very accurate assessment. going forward yesterday, it was andy and one of payet or lanzini for large stretches of the first half. It looked as tough we were afraid they were going to tear us open on the counter like Arsenal did.

trust and confidence are sorely lacking right now. hopefully we've built on that a little bit yesterday.

Why are you so keen to draw attention to the state of our defence, Zero?

You might well be right. But our defence is a disorganised shambles. If Collins can't do it, Reid should step up and take control or we should get someone who can.

Re: Team V Hull
I think it's most likely he'll pick the same team - "Don't change a winning team" etc. But I agree there is something needs to change in the way we play, which, as many have pointed out, seems too negative and defensive. We should be getting one of the CBs to get further forward into midfield when we're in possession, which enables the midfield likewise to push further forward - say, Lanzini playing closer to Carroll. It's all far too cautious at the moment, but that's the trouble with a team that is nervous and afraid to lose.

Collins is shocking, his legs have gone! He may throw himself in-front of everything, give all to the cause but against teams that play - error after error. He cannot keep up.

Thanks Ginge for a good service. Will go down as a player I've appreciated over the years, deserved that new contract, however, he's gone for me.

Is Nordveit the answer at FB ....No

Can he do a job against Hull at home to allow our better players to play in their best positions....Yes

Re: Team V Hull
I'd go with the same line-up as started Wednesday and see how we get on with instructions for someone to get up closer to AC...

Re: Team V Hull
Got to stop lining up so defensively at home against teams of Burnley/Hull's standard, no disrespect to them but these are teams we should be attacking from the off.

Whatever way you want to look at it having 3 defenders with the wing backs plus Obiang sitting and Noble who sits because he can't keep up it basically is 7 defensive minded players in the set up.

Whilst Nordveit wouldn't usually be in my team he is the best option at right back we have available at this time and thought he players well in the 2nd half against Liverpool. Should be able to cope against Hull if not then he should never get a look in again.

Need Kouyate in the middle as well as he offers that better attacking threat than Noble, Obiang starts over Noble too as he is also playing brilliant at the moment and is basically a good version of Noble. I like Noble as a person but for me he is being shown up this season and just doesn't warrant a starting place for me.

Re: Team V Hull
Randolph
Nordveit Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
Kouyate Obiang
Antonio Payet Lanzini
Carroll

Randy

Kouyate Reid Ogbonna Cresswell

Lanzini Obiang Noble Payet

Antonio Carroll

The only question mark there is Ogbonna, I'd have him out and put Oxford in for this one if he was fit

I agree with you, but what we lose in potency we gain in defensive solidity.

Comma...

Bold move...dropping Noble...doubt Bilic will do that...

However it makes sense...but then we have no real captain on the pitch as Reid doesn't have the captain's ability...

Tough decision for Bilic...

TI 3,37, good point and it shows what an embarrassment of riches we have.

So I'll drop Noble and replace him with Obiang in my middle four.
